The Hof am Niederrhein was an ambitious refurbishment project. The aim was for the listed building to maintain its authentic character whilst catering for modern demands for comfort and design. This was achieved with the strategic use of material and colours. Whilst wooden floors, stairs and beams represent the historical core, and create a homely atmosphere, light-coloured marble and black and white accents make for cool contrasts. This applies in particular in the bathroom which is all about contemporary design. Hence the way the generously dimensioned shower area is divided up by the CeraFrame Individual shower channel, the elegant black of which clearly stands out from the marble environment.
