A few days ago the highest building in the world was opened, with a spectacular ceremony in Dubai : the Burj Khalifa.
Dallmer's floor drains are installed throughout the building. Burj
Khalifa is a building that can only be spoken about in superlatives. At
the same time it is a giant space for living and working: 828 m high,
189 floors of which 160 are used for luxury apartments, the Armani Hotel
with 320 suites, high specification offices and several ultra chic
restaurants. This "vertical village" provides space for 12,000
inhabitants. At its maximum occupancy up to 35000 people can be there at
the same time making it a "tower town".
The super-tower was one of Dallmer's biggest individual projects in
number of units sold. The company supplied several thousand high-quality
stainless steel gratings for floor drains, including over 1300 "Quadra"
covers and nearly 3,500 other 'Design' gratings, always in stainless
steel. Drainage technology in a building on this scale needed to combine
established technology with leading-edge design. Dallmer have been
major players in this region for many years, and Burj Khalifa emphasized
their ability in bringing products "Made in Germany" to a discerning
and highly competitive market.
